Even though it is a whopping 42 degrees here today, perhaps it is time for a little fun.

SPRING DECO CONTEST
* We would like players to submit screen shots of their house.
* The theme does not have to be Spring, but if it is not, them you must state the theme your house represents.
* We will have GameOva pick the top three entries.
* Please submit your screen shots to:

• The FORUM under Gallery, with your main player name in the post. 
• You can post one screen shot of more than one screen shot to encompass the theme. 
• Please tell us what the theme is.
• Please include any additional information in your post for Ova to consider when selecting the winners.
• All posts should me submitted by May 21, 2016.
• Prizes will be posted for first, second and third place once players being posting screen shots.
• Winners will be allowed to select from a very prestigious group of artifacts for their taking.

So get to decorating those houses! There are plenty of flowers and craftables to make a wonderful place.

Lions, Tigers and Bears! Ah...no, BUT we do have new dragonz!

We welcome our Chaos Dragon to the fold.
He does Poison and Energy damage and you will have to lore the rest. These creatures can be found in the forest area outside of Hyloth, meandering among the ancient dragons.

There is also a new gargoyle pet that resides in the Void on TerMur. Be careful in this area!
It is filled with all sorts of really nasty creatures, including the Ancient Hellhound.

Wandering the pathways of the Void are also the Hunter Killer Gang. These npc's when killed will award you with Justice - a very handy thing for Champion Spawns!

The creatures of the void will be in constant motion, but I can guarantee you, going there alone may not be in your best interest!

Gift Giving Has Begun!

Gifts for the anniversary started on Monday, April 18th and will run through the end of the month!
You have to long onto the server to get your gifts during this time. There is no age limit on the account, so even if you are new or just starting, we say Welcome to Shazzy's Shard!

Anniversary and Updates!

Of course they have to have a HUGE update right when I am trying to get things set for the Anniversary Party!
But, we shall survive....maybe.

The picture below is of our first server saved on disc, which i still have :)
12 years....wow, off of Ova saying we can do this and putting a server up, hehe.
Time flies, and we have had a lot of fun over the years.

I want to have the dragon ready to go at that time, so let's get some input!

I have some nice gifts and hopefully a few surprises, so stay posted!

The NEW Dragon

Ok...
We have the body of the Order Dragon that we are going to use for our new dragon.
The Greater Dragon is called GREATER for a reason, so we need to think of some ideas for the new pet and keeping it in line with what we have out there.

New Unnamed Dragon

 

 

 

So we need to have:

1. Stats
2. Resists
3. Skills
4. Abilities(?)
5. Breath Color
6. And a WONDERFUL name to package the whole thing up!

Let's hear those ideas so we can have him in for our Anniversary Party!

New Dragon????

I put a poll on the forum asking if you want a new dragon or want the body of the Greaters to be changed.
So far it is a tie.
This also kind of pertains to hunters. What would you like to see on this dead dragons corpse??

I want to add the bad evil dragon back on the sands of Ilshnar and will have to find the post for that event.
I will have to get the spawns off the old server.

I have another update going in soon.
Paladin swords are going to be craftable, and a few others of our past are going to be added to the crafts list.
Anyway...
TO DRAGON or NOT TO DRAGON!
That is the QUESTION!

I am making Paladin Swords craftable per a request from one of our players!

So, Quets, NPC, Features, whatever you have in mind let me know and I will work on it.
Remember, we always want to keep Shazzy's a balanced server :)

Friday Funday!

I just LOVE Fridays!

So, as a sort of new little treat, I have started doing some "Friday Fundays".
This is a totally random, never can tell what ya might get, on the fly gift giving, just for those who login during the time it runs.

The general timeframe it runs is from whenever I get home from work, relax, and let my pee brain come up with a gift to whenever I get up in the morning and finish messing around with updates/stuff and turn it off.

But we have had some really nice gifts - from a crazy GOOD robe on Valentines to a silver serving platter to a cure carpet addon...as I said you just NEVER know with me.

So spread the word!

March Madness

*This would be the non basketball type*

So, as we closed out February with many updates to the base content to be UO accurate, we also added several new craftables and NPC's.

Carpenters have several new containers they can make: a regal case, wooden bookshelf(change graphic when items are placed inside), full bookshelf, alchemists bookcase. Also added back in the grandfather clocks to the crafting list.
Tinkers can now make the wall safe. You can access your bank with this item.
Tailors can make several new kilts, a flowered dress, hooded fancy robe, jester shoes, chef hat, evening gown - for those fashionable days of mining in Minoc, you should dress to the nines! Also added goggles, leather armor taking the hat spot and using the glasses artwork.

A few crafts were brought back. Players can now take care of bee hives like before, using plants and potions to keep their colony happy.
Driftwood and Toy crafting are back. A nice little addition to make some deco for your home.

Fishing was updated to use our older release with some new fish that can be caught, filleted and cooked. A special taxidermy kit will be available that places the players name, date, time and weight of fish on the trophy. I will work to add some of the new trophies to the kit, like lobster and crab.

Champion Spawns have been set to work with our player base. The number of creatures spawned and the amount needed to advance the spawn are reduced from 1/2 to 1/4 depending on the spawn, so enjoy!

A couple of very helpful commands were also added for players - bandself and stablecount(to show how many pets you have and how many you can have)

Along with all this, I am working diligently to get all the custom NPCs spawned and  our quests in.

Morduin - the Trammel to Felucca's Khaldun - has been opened and contains all the NPCs needed for the Book of Truth Quests that are located in the Lycaneum in Moonglow.
** Please note, you can only accept one Book of Truth quest at a time, since you are going to turn in the same items for all three. Sp, please, just one quest at a time!

Lord Blackthorns, Castle dungeon has been revamped with some of our favorite customs and the special artificers that drop an abundance of rare items that work together as a set for players. You should definately check this area out. Go slow and you should be ok. Better yet, take a buddie and wipe out the whole area!

There is a lot more to come and we are getting there little by little! I will concentrate on server updates over the weekend when I have more time and remember....

Updating Continues

I have been going through our customs we have had on the past servers. Some of these I find rather funny:
We had display cases and I was going to just leave those out of crafting this time, until I was going through some of the new additions and came across THIS. I know are were smaller and we crafted the rales but same diff, kinda hehe.
So, at this time I am going through and filtering our what was good and what is just outdated. You have to remember that a lot of things on the old server have been around as long as we have, so 2004:)

Several creatures still need to be spawned from our custom list, but I want to review and update them before they go live on the sever.

Well, that is all for now. Just a quick update on the updates. Time is limited on my end, but we are getting their slowly but surely!

Repairing Vendor

New SA/ML Server is running!

Well, the new server has been up and running since the end of December 2015! There have been many additions and updates and much more to come.

It has been wonderful to see players from years past as well as new to the server truely enjoy what we have put together. We, as always, encourage players feedback and suggestions and work hard implement their ideas.

Shazzy's Shard was established in 2004 and prides itself on maintaining balance and challenging aspects to players of all ages.

If you have been away from Ultima Online for a while, perhaps now is the time to take a look and login to the server. Our FORUM has all the information you need to get started and it is truly painless.

We look forward to seeing everyone in game!
